THE
HISTORY OF "
SUPER TUBE ". Here
you have the great history of a new product, the “tubes for slip on snow”. It
was also a very simple history of the slip with tire tube on snow, which is
exactly the same one as the " Super Tube ". History
be however very simple and begin in 1985 approximately... "Il
be a once " a simple Co of fabric like the other (Les Toiles St-Felix
inc.), which seek a supplement for the season lowest time in the season and a
golf course, (Club de Golf St-Jean Matha, and also today (Super Glissades
St-Jean de Matha), which want make in the same way, therefore the owner ( golf
course ) have the original idea to make some slip on snow with some "
ordinary " tire tube… Now
you have the starting of one extraordinary beautiful history was doesn’t cease
evolving/moving at a speed such as far as the beginners cannot follow it...
We
work and make deal together before this, and the owner invites us to announce
problem to us which it has... I make slip people on tire tubes, but the woman
with clothes of snow, white, yellow and pink stain them while slipping on. Can
you find a solution to regulate this problem, by putting a fabric around, or
every thing like that?... Ah,
surely Mr. let us answer…… 1985
to 1988 approximately... Yes
but, after it be necessary make it... hahahah, ok it not just for fun, be
necessary find a solution with Mr. At the beginning we manufacture a "
envelope " with a bottom in PVC, without side and with a hole in center so
that everyone can himself put it inside, ok but some weeks later, Mr. call to
subject a problem, the snow remain interior of envelope and that make worn the
bottom which rub on the snow, then we decide to put a product well known, some
“creasy carpet” plastics, but rienforced with UV, the fabricator tell…
according to the Co. which it produce. But at the end of few weeks, phone call
again, the same problem are represented... 1988
to 1991 approximately... We
decide then to invent the " donut " an envelope which cover tire tube
with the center completely bottomless and a hole in center so that the person
can himself sits without fall, ok, it function, but at the end of a few weeks
still, phone call, a new problem emerge, it there have some deformation around
the envelope, and that worn the bottom of theses envelopes prematurely with
screw of deformation, then during two winters, we have to make and modify some
envelopes until it be mould perfectly with tire tube… 1991
to 1994 On
the way, this new center add, Le Village des Sports, in Quebec city thus, much
more some request, perfect for us, but still of improvement we made before it be
perfect, but we never release, one be able ahhahahh, ok, but now it be necessary
to make theses envelopes for a more long time, because this is very expensive
for theses new " centers of slips on snow "... Then therefore, not
PVC, not nylon and not plastic, we decide then to turn towards to the rubber, we
things (tire tube = rubber, then that must be good)... At
the beginning, several tests, but that not slip as much as the tire tube and
crack with cold, etc. etc... 1994
Finally,
after 9 winters of tests and more than 3/4 million dollars spend by theses
“centers of slips” and us, we have finally find ideal rubbers for make a
very durables envelopes, which slips according to the specifics needs of each
" center of slips " which it be add in the year, quickly, less
quickly, number years of useful life of theses envelopes, etc... 1994
to 1999 "
Supers " goods envelopes but at the same time always in tests for improve
it... Year
2000… Here
today… Theses " Super Tube " you know. Envelopes mouldeds perfectly,
durable and they was put in tests during several years… And this very beautiful story never end ( and the tests to )… Stephane Fournier Les Toiles St-Felix Inc.. |
